Day 8 – 18.5 miles to near Pulderbos
That was a hot day. May have touched 30 deg C, was certainly high 20s. But it’s still better than rain!

Belgium Begins
Day 7 – 17.5 miles to 3 miles before Brecht
Another day, another MSR tent pole repair. Same issue as before, but on 2 other sections. Of course the tent is the last thing to be packed, so had to unpack everything to get to the glue. Half an hour wasted unpacking, fixing and repacking.
A Day of Achievements
Day 6 – 19.5 miles to east of Huijbergen
Today the tarmac finally relented a bit. A few miles of it to get through Bergen op Zoom, but the rest was mostly farm tracks.

Day 5 – 18.5 miles to near Oude Molen
Woke up to sunshine. It was even quite warm at 7.00am. Enough to risk the shorts. Stayed sunny and warm all day.
A Bad Start, but Improving
Day 4 – 18 miles to Herkingen
I think I am being tested! Woke up at 5.00am with my mattress feeling a bit cold and lumpy…..puncture!
